False reporting of incidents can seriously endanger lives. While the police or other services are responding to a false report, someone else might really need help elsewhere.

The Senj Police Station, with the assistance of the Criminal Police Service of the Lika-Senj Police Department and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar Police Department, completed an investigation against a 39-year-old man from Rijeka on suspicion of two criminal offenses of false alarm.

The suspect is accused of falsely reporting to the police the placement of explosive devices in a catering facility in Senj on June 7, 2024, and July 5, 2024.

Upon receiving the reports, police officers took a series of measures and actions to verify the truthfulness of the reports. It was determined that the reports were false.

The suspect was arrested and handed over to the detention supervisor of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar Police Department. Special reports as supplements to the criminal charges will be submitted to the competent state attorney's office.
